Backten's posture
Most sellers on Backten are informal backyard raisers and traders without formal veterinary paperwork — that is normal for this segment, and Backten never requires health or vaccination documents to post a listing. Health/vaccination fields on a listing are optional, self-reported, and hidden when empty. This page is informational only: we're telling you what Philippine law requires for legal inter-province transport, not verifying that any specific listing meets it.
What the law requires for inter-province transport
- Veterinary Health Certificate (VHC) — issued by a provincial/city veterinarian, valid for 3 days from issuance.
- Shipping Permit — issued by the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) or provincial vet office, valid for 7 days, one permit per destination (the “one-VHC-one-destination” rule).
Both are typically obtained from the origin province’s veterinary/agriculture office before the animal moves. Requirements and zone status can change — always confirm directly with your local veterinary office or the BAI before transporting animals across province lines.
